- A set of 6 chisels, in a black plastic box. Includes a simple sharpening jig for chisels and plane irons. Usually used with a flat faced wooden mallet.
- A set of 5 gouges and a v-tool, in a wooden box. Usually used with rounded mallet – we have a heavy brass-headed mallet and a small wooden mallet.
These tools are used in similar ways, with the stock material on the bench or in a vice. You should either hold the handle and blade in both hands or hold the handle and hit it with a mallet. Never to be used with the stock material in one hand and the chisel in the other hand!
These blades should only be sharpened using diamond stones or by stropping. No power grinding!
